Jeff had to work 4 days surrounding Christmas, so the kids and I enjoyed 4 days relaxing and being at home and waited in anticipation to celebrate Christmas late.
Since Tyler and Rachel knew every other kid was opening all their presents on Christmas day I let them open one gift a day starting on the 25th. So on the 25th, the kids opened up their gift from Uncle Marc and Aunt Ashleigh...DVDs! They loved them! Rachel was super excited to watch Ice Age and Tyler was excited to see Madegascar. The Aragon's invited the kids and I over for Christmas dinner on the 25th, which was super nice of them, but Tyler started with a cough that day and then in the afternoon he stated he wasn't feeling well, so after being on the fence all day I decided to cancel.
On the 26th Tyler and Rachel started running fevers, so I was glad we didn't go to our friends house and share our germs for Christmas. The kids took turns spiking fevers throughout the day. As long as they didn't have a fever they seemed to feel ok. Tyler opened a 3D Power Ranger puzzle from Grandma and Grandpa R. We probably put it together at least 5 times that day, they enjoyed having something new to do.
On the 27th Tyler woke up with a fever. But no other fevers from either of them from that point on...Yeah! Rachel opened a present from Grandma and Grandpa R. She got a princess activity set with princess stickers and a princess puzzle. Rachel was in princess heaven! The night of the 27th Jeff completed his last day of work, Grandma D. and Aunt Sara flew out from California. After talking for way to long, we went to bed in anticipation of starting our Christmas festivities the next day.
The 28th was our Christmas Eve. For our Christmas Eve we went to Mimi's Cafe for dinner (one of our favorite restaurants) and then drove around and looked at Christmas lights. We found a couple of amazing displays with their lights set to music on their own little radio station that we tuned to. Rachel was really cute because occasionally out of the blue she would sing "Santa Clause is coming to town!" The kids were very excited that Santa was coming to town again and this time visiting our house!
