Georgia

Everything is different in Georgia.
Even the dandelions are different.  They are TALL.

Instead of wild bunnies hopping around,
we see armadillos dead on the roadside.
We also have turtles, lizards, and frogs in our yard.

There are TONS of trees.  They are absolutely beautiful.  I love looking into our backyard and seeing the lush greens of the pine trees, maple trees, and underbrush.  The backdrop of trees in our backyard is always pretty. Even in the winter it's nice because the pine trees are still green.

In the spring you can SEE the pollen blowing in the air.
(Luckily it rained SO MUCH this spring that I only saw it blowing in the air once.)

All of the yellow on the dust pan is the pollen I swept off the back porch.  Yes...you sweep up the pollen here.  It is fuzzy.  You don't realize it until you sweep it all together.

There are no good mountains close by for us to hike, but we like walking the Line Creek Nature area, which is 10 minutes from our house.

Summer has begun, so the kids started swim lessons.  Some say all you really want to do outside in the heat of the summer is swim.  Colorado Springs was never hot enough to really enjoy swimming.

Things are different here.  Jeff says he feels like a fish out of water.

But some things remind me of Oklahoma....morning dew on the grass, cicada's chirping, the sticky humidity....there is some sort of familiarity.
