Summer

Here are a few summer highlights I have yet to mention...

We tried to sign Tyler up for baseball or tee ball this summer, but he said he didn't want to play baseball unless he had a friend to do it with.  We didn't find anyone interested in playing baseball, so we passed on the baseball.  Instead Tyler wanted to play tennis. I don't know many 6 year old who play tennis, but that is what he wanted to do.  So we signed him up.  They did mostly little drills and fun games, but he seemed to really enjoy it.

Tyler was in definite NEED of swimming lessons this summer. His only skill was blowing bubbles for 3-5 seconds. He needed a lot of help! He improved and at the end enjoyed swimming freestyle with his face under water for a few seconds until he had to stand up and take a breath.

Tyler has started learning to play the piano.  He's not a consistent practicer and I'm not a consistent teacher, so it has been a slow start, but he seems to be picking it up pretty well.

Many Lego creations have been built.

Rachel has become a self taught dancer.  She loves dancing and wearing her "dancing dress".  Here's a video of her dancing:

We have been working on Rachel's speech which has improved immensely.  She is being evaluated to see if her speech is still behind enough to qualify for preschool or not.
We always look forward to the many thunderstorms.  One brought us some good size hail.

Unfortunately summer vacation has come to an end.  We went to the end of the summer reading party at the library.  The kids got their hair dyed, watch a helicopter land, held tarantellas, and a whole plethora of activities.

On the way out we stopped at the armored vehicle and the kids tried on the army vest.  It was heavy!

I am sad to see summer vacation end.
