Christmas

The Christmas holidays stretched out over several weeks this year.  We had our first Christmas on December 23. Santa brought presents and the kids opened their presents from Jeff and I. Jeff's parents came out early to be here for Christmas #1.  Tyler asked for a remote control airplane, but Santa must know the best toys, because he brought a Street Hawk, which is a remote control car and airplane in one. It has 4 wheel like a car so it easy to control on the ground, but then has wings, which allows it to fly.  Tyler got pretty good at it.  Rachel got a my little pony dress up activity and Matthew got an interactive play house.  He LOVES that thing! It has a little handle so he picks it up and carries it everywhere.  

We saved the biggest present for last: bean bag chairs for the playroom.  The kids collapsed in them....opening present must wear you out. 

A couple days after Christmas we put together gingerbread houses.  I helped Tyler decorate his and Grandma D helped Rachel decorate hers.  They turned out really well and the kids had lots of fun decorating them.

On December 26th we went to Oklahoma for Christmas #2.  All of my siblings were able to make it out too. This is the first Christmas holiday we have all spent together in a long time.  It was good to be all together since my youngest sister, Kristina, has her mission call to the Tucson, Arizona mission and would be gone for 18 months. It was nice to be all together before she left. We also met Jackie and Tyler's baby, Miles, for the first time.  He was a cutie with a big smile. For Christmas #2 my siblings and I did our gift exchange and my parents gave us their gifts.  My Dad compiled a personal flash drive for each of us with videos of when we were young.  It also has video of Tyler and Rachel that they have taken over the years.  I was especially excited because I lost most of my videos of Tyler when he was young when our computer crashed.

Austin had his baptism while we were in Oklahoma, so we were able to attend this special event.


We flew back to Georgia on Dec 31st.  Grandma and Grandpa D were still there, and this time Aunt Sara was there too. I was feeling generous and let the kids stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve.

The next day Marc, Ashleigh and Alyssa drove down and we had Christmas #3.  Often the Dunbabins like to give something outrageous, funny, or absolutely free. Never say thank you for a gift until you open it....it may be something you would rather not bring home or ever wear again.  We took pictures of the funny shirts....which probably won't be worn again.

We also had "normal" Christmas gifts that we gave to each other.

Their last present they had to go find in the garage.  It took them a minute and we finally had to point to it: a basketball and basket ball hoop.

It was fun to have Christmas stretched out and getting a few presents at  a time and enjoy the company of family over several weeks.
