For Matthew's 1st birthday we had a quiet family birthday party at home.
Matthew didn't know what to think of all the attention. Rachel drew him a picture for his birthday. Rachel loves to draw pictures for people. She calls them "surprises".
Matthew had a pretty simple birthday cake. It was decorated in 2 kinds of left over frosting: chocolate on one side and vanilla on the other. It was his first time to eat cake. And his first time to eat chocolate too! He got some in his mouth, but mostly he enjoyed playing with it and making a mess!
