Jessica's Wedding

In December we took a quick trip to Utah for my sister's wedding. We went stand by, so the best flight was early, early Friday morning.  So we were up at 4 a.m. to drive to the airport. It was Matthew's first airplane flight and first trip out of Colorado.  He did really well.  We wore his "Skywest Airline future flyer" shirt for the occasion.  Once we arrived in Salt Lake, we rented a car and started our drive to Orem.  We stopped at Kneaders and met my friend, Kylene, for lunch.  This was our first time to eat at Kneaders.  Yum!

Next we finished our drive to Orem and visited my Grandma Reid. Tyler was 4 years old and Rachel was 6 months old last time we were out in Utah, so it had been a while since they have seen my extended family.  Grandma Reid sill had balloons from her 90th birthday party.

We also got a 4 generation picture.  I think Matthew was sleeping during this time, so he missed out.

We met cousin Brooklyn for the first time.  We let Matthew and Brooklyn get acquainted. (They were born a month apart.)

That evening my mom and dad watched the grandkids while us kids went to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It was the first real date night Jeff and I have had since Matthew was born. Thanks mom and dad!

On Saturday, December 14th Jessica and Travis were married for time and all eternity on the Salt Lake City Temple.

It was freezing cold outside and we couldn't wait for pictures to be done.  Afterwards there was a nice ring ceremony and luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial building.  On our way out we saw Santa and got our picture with him in front of their Christmas tree.

Next we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Hirschi's house to visit with family.  Grandpa Hirschi had lemon wafer cookies that Rachel loved.  They bonded over the lemon cookies.  Grandpa H. spoiled her with as many lemon cookies as she wanted.  He was wrapped around her little finger.

On Sunday we were able to go see Jackie and Tyler's new home in Midvale. They are also expecting a baby boy in April, so lots of fun changes for them.

Sunday night we bundled up to see the lights on Temple Square.  It was cold but very beautiful!

It was nice to visit Salt Lake and see extended family.  And a special thank you to my Aunt Renee and Uncle Randy who let us crash in their basement each night!
